Iron ore

Iron ore is essential for global industries, being the primary source for steel production, which supports infrastructure, automotive, construction, and machinery sectors, driving the development and sustainability of modern economies.

Hematite: The most important and abundant iron ore, known for its high iron content, commonly used in steel production.

Magnetite: Contains a high percentage of iron and is magnetic, used in steel manufacturing and heavy media separation.

Limonite: A lower-grade ore with significant water content, used primarily in iron production.

Siderite: A less common ore, containing iron carbonate, used in areas with high-carbon iron applications.

Goethite: Another lower-grade iron ore, often found in combination with other iron ores and used in various iron-making processes.

Electronics: Used as an insulator in capacitors, transformers, and circuit boards due to its dielectric strength and heat resistance.

Cosmetics: Adds shimmer and shine to makeup products like eyeshadows and highlighters.

Automotive: Serves as insulation in ignition systems and acts as a filler in plastics to enhance durability and reduce weight.

Construction: Used in fireproofing materials and as an additive in paints and coatings for sheen, UV resistance, and stability.

Industrial Applications: Employed in furnace windows, high-temperature insulation, and thermal management products.

High-Grade Iron Ore: Contains more than 65% iron content, mostly in the form of hematite or magnetite, ideal for steel production due to its high purity.

Medium-Grade Iron Ore: Typically contains 62%-65% iron, widely used in steelmaking with minimal processing required.

Low-Grade Iron Ore: Contains less than 62% iron, often requires beneficiation processes like crushing and grinding to improve purity before use.

Direct Shipping Ore (DSO): High-grade ore that can be directly shipped to the steel mills without requiring extensive processing, typically containing above 60% iron.

Beneficiated Ore: Lower-grade ores that have been processed to remove impurities and increase iron content, suitable for steelmaking after enrichment.
